Deep diver: introducing the Replica Breitling Superocean II

Breitling released the self-winding Replica Breitling Superocean II at this year’s Baselworld, with a new thinner profile, redesigned dial and bezel and Ocean Racer rubber strap. There are 42 and 44mm versions in black or mariner blue, and a nimble 36mm version in black or all-white.

It’s a nifty downsize that works well, especially considering the oversize direction Breitling took at last year’s Baselworld with the 46 and 48 (!) millimetre  Navitimers. The 36mm white Superocean II on a white rubber strap makes a stylish ladies’ diving watch, but the black version with steel bracelet inevitably has a more masculine look.

All hold the COSC-certified in-house cheap replica Breitling Caliber 17, which beats at 28,800 vph and has 25 jewels. It’s protected by a screw-locked crown, with beyond-ample water resistance which varies according to size: from 200m for the 36mm and 500m for the 42mm up to an impressive 1,000m for the 44mm.

On all three sizes, the case profile has been slimmed down to a more wearable thickness – just 11.25mm on the 36mm, for example. The case is robust steel, satin-brushed on the 44mm version and with a polished finish on the 36mm and 42mm models.

There are a couple of stylistic changes too: the Breitling Replica Superocean numerals and numbers on the bezel are in a more classic font than on previous incarnations, and there’s an internal circle of 24-hour numerals. For easy reading on deep-water or night dives, the oversize hands and numerals are coated in white lume.

The ratcheted unidirectional rotating bezel now has a handy countdown scale, with individual notches for Breitling replica watches sale tracking the last 15 minutes of dive time. There’s a luminescent dot-shaped marker inside a triangle at 12 o’clock, a motif which pops up again as the stamped-out holes in the redesigned Ocean Racer rubber strap.
